Hopkins Three Pan Flat Top High Efficiency Island Frying Range

Hopkins has recently installed a three pan flat top high efficiency island range at the busy Gretna services, the first services you'll pass as you head in to Scotland on the A74(M).

Having won the contract for Hopkins frying ranges to be specified as standard equipment for all Harry Ramsden's outlets, we were very happy to install a Hopkins 3 pan high efficiency island range at the latest welcome break development.

This is one of fourteen ranges we are currently installing for Harry Ramsdens/Welcome Break to add to the five previous ones installed.

Rod McKie, CEO of Welcome Break, said “Our customers told us that they wanted a wider selection of good food, including premium brands and the new environment provides the ideal place in which to enjoy them.”

Gretna is located in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland. It is located near the mouth of the River Esk and near the border to England. They are well known for their weddings due to the nearby village of Gretna Green, because of the more liberal marriage laws in Scotland.

In the heart of Gretna Green there is a Food Hall, this is very popular with tourists and locals as it sells the best farm and local produce in the area. Celebrity chef, Nick Nairn visited and said “I’m a big fan of businesses that support local and small food producers. It’s becoming increasingly difficult for the public to locate top-quality produce these days, so anyone who can make it just that little bit easier, and bring together the best of what Scotland has to offer, deserves a pat on the back. I wish them every success.”

The local authority is mainly driven by the marriage industry; most of these take part in the Gretna Register office, the Anvil Hall and in quite a few different hotels in the centre of Gretna. It is also well known for the starlings that occasionally fly in flocks above the town due to the millions of birds migrating from Russia and Scandinavia to escape harsh winters.

Gretna was also the home of Gretna Football Club, they played in the Scottish Premier League during the 2007-2008 season. The club then went on to the 2006 Scottish Cup Final. Rugby league is also starting to become successful in the area.
